The Buckeye Room

The Buckeye Room is an exclusive online community panel where Ohio State alumni share feedback through surveys. Buckeye Room members’ ideas and opinions influence university decisions and help Ohio State improve experiences for Buckeyes throughout the world.

Ohio State values your opinion! The Buckeye Room is your platform to share the unique insights that only you can bring to the conversation. As a member, you'll have the opportunity to weigh in on ideas at the university, preview new programs and help shape exceptional Buckeye experiences. Members receive regular updates about how their input is being used, enabling them to see firsthand how their participation leads to real results.

The Buckeye Room helps Ohio State tap into its far-reaching alumni network to inform the university on:

• Alumni initiatives and events
• Attitudes and opinions about the university
• Alumni interactions with the university
• Branding initiatives
• Philanthropic priorities/motivations
• Opportunities to enhance the alumni experience

Any and all Ohio State alumni can participate.

To get started, you'll first need to answer a few questions. This short survey (approximately 8 to 10 minutes) will start your membership and help ensure you have a meaningful Buckeye Room experience, tailored to the topics you care about most.

After you complete your registration, you’ll start to receive email invitations to participate in surveys and engagement activities. Invitations will be sent to you once or twice a month. Most activities will take ten minutes or less to complete. You are always free to choose whether to participate in any activity, and you may discontinue your Buckeye Room membership at any time.

You'll also receive communication from Buckeye Room that shares how we used feedback from our members to influence decisions at Ohio State. Typically, we will send a recap of what we've done in Buckeye Room every quarter. We hope you will feel more connected and enjoy receiving insider information about your alma mater.

We take your privacy very seriously. Your information and survey responses will be maintained in a secure system and never sold or shared with other organizations. All survey responses are aggregated during data analysis and when we report to the university and back to our Buckeye Room community. You are welcome to review our complete privacy policy.

Ohio State alumni and their families hail from all over the world and are diverse in many ways. The purpose of our demographic questions is to be inclusive and supportive of our entire alumni community and to bring forth topics that are most pertinent to you. The information you share with us is held in strict confidence.

The Buckeye Room provides the university with an in-house resource to answer questions, offer feedback, generate ideas and collaborate in real time. Your feedback informs university decisions and inspires new initiatives. For example, insights collected from Buckeye Room members were shared with our marketing team to make changes to our osu.edu website. You can check out our member input section for more information on how we have utilized member feedback.

In addition, we may use the information you share in Buckeye Room to tailor your experience with Ohio State. For example, you may indicate that you are interested in career services at The Ohio State University Alumni Association. We may follow-up with you regarding opportunities from The Office of Career Management.

There will be occasions that you will have opportunities to win prizes for participating in surveys or activities.

Thank you for your interest and enthusiasm, but the Buckeye Room is only open to Ohio State alumni.

As a Buckeye Room member, you'll receive email invitations to participate in activities in the community. To deactivate your membership, simply click on the unsubscribe link located at the bottom of the email. Alternatively, you can send an email to support@buckeyeroom.osu.edu to request removal.

No. Being a member of the Buckeye Room is entirely free.

You may be able to see individuals who participate in Buckeye Room when members give us permission to share their stories or they have been featured in fun activities. In addition, the Buckeye Room Member Hub is a place where we share content related to Buckeye Room and those who comment on the articles may use their real name.

If you currently receive requests from Ohio State, those may continue, but the Buckeye Room will never ask members to give financially. All we ask for is a few minutes of your time and your unique insights.
